StimSure Muscle Stimulation Pre & Post Treatment Protocols

Thank you for choosing Elite Body Contouring for your StimSure Muscle Stimulation treatment.

In order to maintain our high standards of safety and to maximise your results, we've listed some important information below which you should familiarise yourself with before you commence your treatment. 



The information listed on this page contains essential details, requirements, and/or instructions which are important for you to know before you begin your treatment with Elite Body Contouring. 

If any of the below apply to you or should you have any questions, please contact us as soon as possible prior to completing your treatment. 

StimSure Pre-Treatment Protocols

  • Thin clothing may be worn (i.e. tights), however for comfort, thicker clothing layers can be removed
  • Any clothing containing metal (such as jeans) must be removed prior to treatment
  • Remove all jewellery and electronic devices prior to treatment
  • Do not use electronic devices such as mobile phones during treatment
  • Our treatments are not suitable for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Please advise your therapist of any metal implants in any area of the body. We cannot treat directly over an area which contains any metal plates or screws
  • Treatments must be used in conjunction with a healthy diet and lifestyle, including the consumption of at least 2 litres of water per day to achieve results. Exercise is strongly recommended with your StimSure Treatment Program to maximise your results

StimSure Post-Treatment Protocols

  • It is normal to experience tenderness in the muscles over the next few days
  • It is recommended to consume a meal or snack containing protein within 30-60 minutes post-treatment
  • Allow 2 days before re-treating the same area with another
  • You may treat up to 2 areas with StimSure on the same day

Combining Other Treatments with Stimsure:

Our Complete Cellulite Treatment can be combined with StimSure on the same day, however other treatments, including: LIPOcel Body Sculpting, Cryolipolysis Fat Freezing or HIFU Skin Tightening can be performed only after 7-days from your StimSure treatment. If you are interested in accelerating your results with a combined-treatment approach, please speak with your Therapist to help you plan out your ideal treatment schedule. 

Maintaining Your Results

Please carefully review the information below which includes some important steps that you can take to ensure you will achieve the best possible results from your treatment.

Understanding Your Body Composition

The amount of subcutaneous fat in the treatment area is a determining factor in how much visible muscle definition can be achieved. Subcutaneous fat can be stubborn and hard to shift with diet and exercise alone, so if you find it hard to reduce fat in the area or want to achieve the best visual result, combining StimSure treatments with our non-surgical fat reduction treatments is recommended. 

An InBody 770 body composition scan will be conducted before each treatment to help ensure you are on-track to achieve the best results. We also encourage our clients to drop-by the clinic in-between treatments to conduct regular complimentary InBody scans to help keep you on track.

Exercise The Muscle Group

In order to maintain muscle mass and enhance your results, it is important to continue working out the muscle group. Weight/resistance training is the best option to assist in maintaining your results as this helps to break down the muscle and surrounding tissue which builds and tones the muscle, as opposed to cardio, which is more designed for stripping and shedding the fat pockets. Just as with any other form of exercise, you need to continue your exercise regime in order to achieve lasting results. For those who are unable to perform weight/resistance training, your Body Contouring Specialist will tailor an ongoing treatment plan specific to you to maintain your results.

Monitor Your Protein Intake

When you exercise, you create micro tears in the muscle which your body then repairs, resulting in muscle growth. The body breaks down protein and uses the amino acids that protein is comprised of in order for your body to repair the muscle, making protein vital in the process of muscle building, muscle toning and muscle recovery. 

Regardless of the amount of exercise you are performing, without the right amount of protein intake to feed your muscles your efforts will fall short. With various forms of workouts, including our StimSure treatments, it is generally recommended to consume protein within 30-60 minutes of completing your workout to aid muscle growth and recovery. 

By ensuring you intake sufficient amounts of protein into your diet the benefits will include feeling fuller for longer, reducing overeating, reduced appetite, hunger levels and cravings, increased muscle mass and growth, strengthened bones and joints, assisted muscle recovery, help with your body repairing itself after injury, boosted metabolism and increased fat burning.

Stay Hydrated

All of our treatments are non-invasive meaning no needles or cutting is involved in building the muscle. So how does water consumption help to build and maintain muscle? Studies show that you should maintain a good protein synthesis in the body for better muscle growth. Water consumption aids in building and maintaining muscles by energising the muscles, preventing fatigue, preventing less muscle breakdown by avoiding shrinking of muscle cells, and also helps to maintain a good protein synthesis. 

Your Body Contouring Specialist can calculate the right amount of water you should be drinking as a minimum for you personally. Our bodies are made up of around 60% water so with or without treatments, drinking enough water is vital to your overall health.

Follow Your Treatment Course

During your consultation, our trained specialists will work with you to develop a tailored treatment plan, which may consist of more than one type of treatment, to achieve the best possible results for your concerns. We will use our experience and expertise to be able to provide you with the closest guide possible when advising the number of sessions required. Please note, results will vary client to client due to several factors and StimSure generally requires a course of a minimum of 8 treatments for best results.

Give Your Body Time

The average clinical end-point for StimSure muscle stimulation treatments is around 3-4 weeks after a course of treatments has been completed. StimSure provides maximal tetanic contraction which causes micro trauma in the muscle which results in muscle growth and tightening of the tissue surrounding the muscle - It takes your body time repair the micro trauma. 

Everyone’s body and lifestyles are different so results will present in different ways for each client. Non-Surgical Body Contouring is a process, and we are with you the whole way. All clients receive complimentary InBody Body Composition Scans through their program to help monitor results and keep you on track. As the final result is usually seen 3-4 weeks after your course of treatments is complete, so be patient, we are just as excited about seeing the results as you are.

Whilst eating at a calorie deficit during fat loss phases, it is particularly important to ensure protein intake is sufficient to prevent muscle loss. As collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body, this collagen protein can feed this type of protein as well as feeding the other 60-70% of protein in the body.

BCAA (Branched Chain Amino Acids) supplements can assist with building muscle, decreasing muscle fatigue and relieving muscle soreness.
