Cellulite Pre & Post Care
Elite Body Contouring offers cellulite reduction for eligible candidates. Whether you’re considering treatment or have recently had a session, understanding proper cellulite reduction before and aftercare is key to safe and optimal results.
Below, you’ll find clear, practical information to help you feel informed and supported throughout every stage of your treatment journey.

Pre-treatment guidelines
- Do not eat heavy meals and fatty foods 1 hour prior to your treatment.
- Do not consume caffeine for 2 hours before your appointment.
- Avoid drinking alcohol within 24 hours of your treatment.
- Avoid laser treatments on the treatment area for 2 weeks prior to your session.
- Minimise direct sun exposure for 48 hours before your treatment, as we are unable to treat sunburnt skin.
- If the skin in the treatment area is red, irritated or broken, treatment must be postponed until the skin has fully healed.
- Cellulite reduction is not suitable during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
- Please inform us if you are taking any blood-thinning or skin-thinning medications.
- Cellulite reduction should be combined with a healthy diet and lifestyle, including drinking at least 2 litres of water per day.
Post-treatment care
After your session, it’s normal to experience mild and temporary effects, such as redness, warmth, flushing, tenderness or a mild tingling sensation as the body responds to treatment. Be sure to follow these aftercare guidelines:
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours after treatment.
- Avoid caffeine for 2 hours following your session.
- Avoid heavy meals and fatty foods for at least 1 hour after treatment.
- Do not wax the treated area for 3–5 days.
- Avoid laser treatments on the treated area for 2 weeks.
- Refrain from strenuous exercise for 24 hours after your session.
- Avoid hot baths, steam rooms and massage for 24 hours after treatment.
- Protect the area from sunburn during the healing process and avoid excessive sun exposure for 2 weeks.
- Drink plenty of water to support your body following treatment.
Following the right cellulite reduction before and aftercare steps can help encourage proper healing and recovery. We usually schedule a follow-up appointment 12 weeks after your treatment to review your progress and discuss the next steps in your treatment plan.

Can cellulite reduction be combined with body contouring treatments?
Yes. StimSure treatments may be performed on the same day as your cellulite reduction session. However, other treatments such as LIPOcel Body Sculpting, Cryolipolysis (Fat Freezing) and HIFU Skin Tightening should be scheduled at least 7 days after your initial session.
If you are considering a combined treatment plan to help optimise your results, we recommend speaking with your therapist. They can assess your skin type, medical history and treatment goals to determine which options are suitable for you. They will also advise on the appropriate timing between sessions and create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Maintaining your results
Achieving results is one part of the process; maintaining them requires ongoing commitment and healthy lifestyle habits. The following guidelines are designed to help support and protect your treatment outcomes over time.
Track visceral fat levels
Our cellulite reduction treatments are designed to target stubborn subcutaneous fat, not visceral fat. Visceral fat is the deeper fat stored around the organs and is primarily influenced by lifestyle factors. If weight gain occurs, visceral fat cells can expand, which may affect your overall results.
Diet and lifestyle choices can contribute to the development of cellulite or increase its visibility. Maintaining a healthy diet and prioritising regular exercise is crucial in supporting both your treatment outcomes and overall body composition.
To help monitor your progress, an InBody 770 body composition scan is performed before each treatment. You may also visit our clinic between sessions for complimentary scans to stay informed and on track throughout your program.
Stay hydrated
Our treatments are non-invasive, meaning fat is processed and eliminated through the body’s natural metabolic pathways, including the liver and lymphatic system.
Proper hydration supports these natural processes. Drinking adequate water helps your body function efficiently and assists in overall recovery. After your InBody scan, your therapist will advise you on the recommended daily water intake based on your age, weight and height.
Maintain muscle mass
While treatments focus on reducing stubborn fat, maintaining muscle mass is equally important. A reduction in muscle mass may affect how smooth or firm the treated areas appear. Throughout your cellulite reduction program, your therapist will monitor your skeletal muscle levels and ensure muscle mass is maintained at home.
Follow your treatment plan
Your personalised treatment plan is developed based on your body composition and goals. The recommended number of sessions reflects clinical experience and what is needed to support optimal results. Not completing your scheduled sessions may limit the outcome of your program.
Allow results to develop progressively
Non-surgical cellulite reduction is a gradual process. We may recommend multiple follow-up sessions to achieve your desired outcomes. Results vary from person to person, and progress is reviewed throughout your program.
